Hi,
the mixer only shows the pcm volume control. alsaconf detected the sound controller properly.
Does anybody knows, where this is coming from?
The audio device is:
0000:00:1b.0 Class 0403: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Kernel 2.6.12-r4, sound support compiled as kernel module

First, there is no need to compile alsa as module.
But in both cases, as module or compiled in, you need to start
the alsasound initscript ( I think it is called so )
And then you must only compile your soundcard. I have a similar
problem, because I have the dummy client also compiled and
alsa always used this:? |

The alsasound script is running and the sequencer dummy client is not compiled into the kernel. |

Baghira, have you solved this?
I finally figured out which driver to load in my Precision 380 workstation. I'm wasting too many work hours trying to figure out why only a single PCM mixer is available: No Master, and no sound! |
