Ok, I have installed Gentoo many times before. Normaly it will pick up my network cards no problems, but I just got me a older HP server. It has an onboard Intel 10/100 NIC. It also has 2 10/100 Intel PCI NIC's. Now if I have the onboard enabled, none of them will get an IP address. I can't even modprob them to work.
Now, if I disable the onboard, at least one of them will work. I don't have a network cord in both, so I am guessing they are both working ok. I am not at the PC now for the dmesg..sorry
But, do any of y'all have any other ideas? Thanks. |

Have you messed with the BIOS setup ?
IRQ assignments switched around ?
Try booting the LiveCD with ACPI off. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

I'll try with the ACPI off...Didn't even think of that. doh
It's still installing now, so I will also take a look once the system gets built all the way.
Thanks for the quick reply |
