I emerged cups, the drivers for my Lexmark Z65 aren't available, I found some drivers for lexmark Z53 in the list in cups, but with that driver I can only print white pages ;) wich is not ok :!: :!:

From the site of lexmark I downloaded this file:
http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=21:1:0:340:0:0&emeaframe=&fileID=1282&searchLang=en&searchLang=en

I ran the included script, but the only output it gave me was:

Code:
 # sh lexmarkz65-CUPS-1.0-1.gz.sh
Verifying archive integrity...tail: `+6' option is obsolete; use `-n 6' since th
is will be removed in the future
OK
Uncompressing Lexmark Printer Drivertrap: usage: trap [-lp] [arg signal_spec ...
]

The line with the : usage: seems to me like a command with wrong parameters or something like that?
Is there anybody who could help me out plz?

TIA

How did you uncompress and untar the original file? It seems like you did not uncompress it because it still has .gz in the name. Try running the following command on the original file from the lexmark site:
Code:
tar -xzf CJLZ65LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.GZ

Let me know if that helps.

This is what the include README file says (which I nicely folowed):

Code:
In general, to install Z65 CUPS Printer Driver, you run
    the following command:

      - tar xvfz CJLZ65LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.GZ
      - cd CJLZ65LE-CUPS-1.0-1
      - sh lexmarkz65-CUPS-1.0-1.gz.sh

So it doesn't help, sry

You might want to check out the wiki at gentoo-wiki.com theres a guide there for making various lexmark printers work, it worked for my Z515.

Only thing is I did end up replacing that when it dawned on me I had an epson lying around that could clean its print heads without windows software :D

Coool this 'almost' worked for me!
I was working my way in this direction ;) but I sure as hell wouldn't have fixed it in the first 2 weeks :)

So no I have my Z65 printer in cups with the Z65 driver.

The only problem now is, I only get: 'Cannot Process Raster' when I try to print the test-page!

I removed the printer from cups, and added a new printer, now when I try to print a test page, all I get is: Starting ESP Ghostscript 7.07.1..."
