Hi can anybody tell how I manage that smb/nfs shares appear inthe 'storage media' applet?? I'm using hald/dbus and USB sticks, cameras and so on do appear there, but not any nfs/smb shares. How can I add them there? Do I need a line in fstab for them?

It's my experience that using HAL/DBUS won't give ya this behavior. When I had it enabled SMBFS shares and various partitions wouldn't show. It is my understanding that you have 2 choices concerning media:/
1. Use HAL/DBUS. It'll work very well w/ USB devices but not any other storage at this time.
2. Compile kde w/o HAL. It will use fstab and you will see ALL your mounts perfectly. CD automounting will still work but USB devices (such as my digital camera) dont show an icon in media:/ (but still works fine).
I'll refer ya to this thread. |
