How do I configure the appearance of KDE applications (theme, fonts, icon theme, etc) if I don't have KDE installed? Is there any way to do this without installing kcontrol?

Yes, qtconfig is installed with QT. It doesn't change everything, though. I guess some applications use KDE-specific extensions or something.

For example:
I set all the fonts in QT to be Bitstream Vera Sans with qtconfig. In Amarok the playlist fonts are Bitstream Vera Sans but when browsing my music collection in the left pane everything is Helvetica.
