Oops, we are discussing two things here. Can you try this instead:

Code:
 gdb kaffeine
(gdb) run

and when it crashes type bt in the gdb prompt.

When i did try to run it in gdb it did not crash, it problay has something to do with that i did upgrade the xine-libs yesterday to v1.1.0 from v1.0.1. I will try to downgrade an get error output in the progress.

Ah, no - kaffeine is a threaded program and would have disappeared into the background before crashing. This complicated our trace a bit more.
So, were you able to play anything? Or did it just hang again? BTW, if you have kcrash enabled, this would be much easier to do.

I was trying to debug, but all i get this from the kde crash window. I did trun debug off, becose it didn't change anything to have it on. Since i just got the same msg anyway.

Code:
This backtrace appears to be useless.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creating of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

(no debugging symbols found)
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

This is what i get from the shell, without the debug mode on.

Code:
kaffeine

DVB 1 : No such file or directory
DVB 2 : No such file or directory
DVB 3 : No such file or directory

Just tryng to isolate things here - Do any other xine based frontends work ? Examples are codeine, xine-ui, gxine etc. It could be that there is some problem with xine in your system. Mainly, do you have an orphaned build of kde? Somewhere like half migrating to kde3.4 ? Its /usr/bin/kaffeine that you are trying to run right?

I don't have anything else installed of xine execpt kaffeine and xine-lib, as for kde i always install full package since kde is my main chose of dekstop. This problem appears to vanish when i did upgrade xine-lib and that is what i have done, since i didn't find any other fix for it.
