|
|
Hi all,
I'm just finishing up a stage 1 install, and was able to boot my PC (surprisingly) on the first try. I'm now experiencing some network problems. When it goes to use DHCP - it gives me
running dhcpcd... [!!]
It doesn't give me any errors, nor does it tell me any modules are missing.
If I run dhcpcd eth0, it doesn't say anything.
the last time I had gentoo installed on this machine, it worked fine, so I don't know wha tI did differently this time.
MP
PS, using genkernel |

maybe check 'dmesg' to see if that gives any errors. |

checked dmesg, no errors there. Anything else that would make sense to check? It's odd that DHCP doesn' seem to work, when it did last time I installed.

Try bringing up eth0 manually using ifconfig to test before you worry about the DHCP part. |
