Hi,
I am currently re-installing gentoo on my laptop. When launching X / Xfce4, during compilation time (high cpu usage), my screen is just plain horrible. Loads of small stuff like a bad TV reception. Pretty ugly.
Video component is an ATI radeon 9000 mobility.
My video drivers are ATI's lasts.
My packages are up to date (unmasked).
I have no idea what I should be looking into to try to find a solution.
This shit does not appear under Windows and did not happen on my previous gentoo installation (few month ago).
(I have a new screen, but I sincerely doubt it could be the problem).
Thanks a lot for any post that could help me find a solution. |

Is it like horizontal lines running along the screen? I know I had that problem way back, think was mis configured driver or monitor settings in X config. Check to make sure all the refresh rates and such are ok? |
