Hello,
My Gentoo is fully UTF-8: consoles, softwares, ... and of course file names. I have bought a hard-disk MP3 player (Archos GMini XS202). My problem is that the player does not support UTF-8 file names. Is there a solution (for ex. a file manager) wich can convert UTF8 filenames to ISO-8859 filenames during copy? How do people who use UTF8 on their computer and transfer files to their MP3 players?
Thankx. _________________ AMD Sempron 2800+ 64bit, 512 Mo RAM, ATI Radeon 7000 (64Mo), Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value, 32-bit installation.

Try easytag. All you have to do is go into its settings and say "convert utf8 to ISO-8859" then load the folder with the songs, and the songs that are highlighted red are ones that need to change. Select all songs, and save them. That should do it. If not, select all songs, edit some arbitrary attribute for all of them, then change it back to normal and save. I know this sounds weird, so if you have troubles, send pm. _________________ AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux 2x2.2 ghz
