Is it possible to get KDE System Notification using alsa? If yes, what needs to be done?

You can try using the alsa plugin for arts, if you are so insistent.
try to get it.
or try opening the notifications window with kcmshell kcmnotify.
There was an option to select the player to output the sound, the last time i used it.
