I have been looking for a way to install gentoo in MS w/o a cd-rom or a fdd (just to boot) so i can install gentoo on an old laptop (Windblows 98 is starting to irritate me)
I found this link: http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/InstallingPuppyInMsdos?show_comments=1
but the thing is.. it is using puppy distro.. i want EMERGE POWER
I tried extracting install-x86-minimal-2005.0 iso.. and see all sort of file..
My Question is.. Can i boot the iso file using grub and ff the puppy link? and if so.. what files should i specify? can i use lilo instead?
Tnx! |

I'd use VMWare to solve this. Mount iso in vmware, start up, follow the installation guide, wipe windows partition afterwards. Did this yesterday on this very laptop and worked great. |
