My keyboard is going nuts under gentoo! Every so often it will start just keep repeating the last key typed until infinity, sometimes it stops but eventually in a session it'll just go completly nuts. I am unsure if this only happens in gnome. This is defiently a software fault because the keyboard works flawlessly in windoze and other linux distro's.
It's a coolermaster EAK keyboard (USB) with 104 keys, of which have been set in xorg.conf using flgrxconfig.
I'm using the 2005.0 release with a 2.6.12 gentoo-sources kernel with an ATI Radeon 9800, amd athlon 2800 and a gig of ram.
Anything else you need to know just ask :D

Hello, i realize this is an old thread, but, i to am getting the same error.

atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x5b on isa0060/serio0).
atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes 5b <keycode>' to make it known.

i have tried to install this now several times, once from the min. install disk, the universal install, the Live cd and now inside vmware and all attempts are the same thing.

I need'nt tell you what a pain in the arse it is to try to configure lilo or grub or any other file with a ton of garbled code poppin up.

is there a fix for this or not?

Microsoft wireless comfort KB 1.0A and mouse bundle, model 1027

Thank you

I don't know what to suggest there other than finding a different keyboard to use :(
