|
|
I'm following the handbook this long. So far so good.
I'm at the manual configuration for the kernel, an I can't seem to include the support for usb.
It gives me:
--- Support for hot-pluggable devices
I can't include, exclude or anything.
I have no usb devices hooked up right now. Is that what is causing it? |

Did you enable "Plug and Play Support" under "Device Drivers" in the kernel configuration? |

I belive that means it is a requirement of another kernel feature and so it is included by default. |

When menuconfig shows you --- instead of < > or [ ] it means that particular option is forced due to some other option in the kernel.
In your particular case, Support for hot-pluggable devices is enabled, and cannot be disabled unless you turn off some other things in the kernel too. |

Why are you trying to disable support for hot-pluggable devices ? |
