|
|
I went through and got gentoo completely installed. It works and everything, the problem is that when I installed I didn't have a network connection available. Now I want to install
When loading the liveCD I can type ifconfig and the connection is live and working, however it isn't setup on the gentoo install so when I chroot or start at the gentoo command prompt ifconfig shows nothing.
What can I do if I need to setup a network after compiling the kernel and setting everything up. |

Just recompile the Kernel with the proper device support.
You can find the correct option by booting up the LiveCD and start lsmod.
But this is also explained in the handbook AFAIK. |
