Im trying to set up my gentoo box as a yp client..
I installed ypbind and yp-tools with emerge.
I put my config in /etc/yp.conf
but when I started
/etc/init.d/ypbind start
it complained about the settings in
/etc/conf.d/ypbind
so I look in that file and the only thing I see that I can set is the
YP_DOMAIN
which I set.. but how do I set the yp server that I wanna use?
I tried YP_SERVER=myserver (im guessing this isnt right, but I dont know)
and tried to start ypbind, but it complains that
No NIS server found.
how do I specify the yp server?
(Im used to putting it in /etc/yp.conf)
