Just recently, when running UT2004 I get no sound. (as in it worked before, might have stopped working after emerge -uDv world..)
I'm getting this error:

I don't know why it's looking for /dev/[sound/]dsp, shouldn't it be trying to open /dev/sound/dsp? |

Hello,
Depends i guess about the system you are using but i think you are using 2.6 kernel, so you should enable alsa and alsa-oss, take a look at the official documentation there : http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml
