you know, sometimes you do a thing and in the same moment, you realizalize, this was a bad, bad thing, but its alllready too late.
I had such a moment, when i just unmerged python.
When you ahve finnished laughing i would be happy to lern about annny solutions...

You might try to follow /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files/README.RESCUE
That's to recover a somewhat out of order portage , I don't know if it will help your phyton...
PS: Wait a moment. Phyton is needed to emerge, but to compile? Since the package is still in your /usr/portage/distfiles you should be able to reinstall it by hand... _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |

Yeah I was investigating to get a solution like the one proposed in the thread...
If it works I'd add it to the FAQ (well maybe it doesn't happen very often but it's a quite useful thing to know when you need it... ) _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |
