another question out of curiousity, but i booted up with the gentoo live CD and ran a check on the root partition and noticed it said 'clearing orphaned inode <########>'. i've always wondered what this meant exactly and is it common for this to happen even if the system IS shutdown correctly?
Thanks in advance! |

I should add that I'm checking it through the live CD where it outputs all the checking processes. If anybody could give me a clude i'd appreciate it, i get anxiety over stupid stuff like this (and about everything else too)
nothilng really appears to be wrong with the filesystem otherwise. |
