Sedert de laatste emerge -uv world (waarin thunderbir werd ge-update) krijg ik met geen stokken thunderbird aan de praat; verschillende posts gevonden maar niks dat helpt , iemand een idee ? 'vreed' bedankt

sorry, voor de late reply ... had geen internet access gedurende enkele dagen . Het probleem is dat er geen error message is; set -x geeft dit als resultaat - ik persoonlijk zie niks verkeerd :

probeer eens "strace thunderbird -o mijnbestand"

dit geeft een berg output in "mijnbestand". Upload dat bestand en plaats hier even een link (zal waarsch te groot zijn om fatsoenlijk te kunnen posten)

Probeer es met emerge sync en dan te reemergen.
De eerste ebuild voor thunderbird-1.0.6 was b0rked.
Heb hier ook even probs mee gehad.

Uit de changelog:
Fix major boo-boo in 1.0.6-r1: installed-chrome.txt had gone missing. Also
move 4ft2 patch to distfiles

Heb ik gedaan, en nu kan ik thunderbird vanaf de shell prompt starten en de gnome applications menu, maar niet van de shortcut in de top toolbar - hoewel die ook naar /usr/bin/thunderbird verwijst - bon; we zullen het als opgelost beschouwen ...
