*raises hand* Hello, my name is Jessica, and I'm a Linux n00b.
I started using Linux about two months ago, and most of that time was SUSE. I just got Gentoo up and running, and enlightenment is deeply awesome. My laptop is connected to a local area network via an ethernet cable. Under SUSE, there was a neat little utility that let me look for other computers in the Linux equivalent of a Windows workgroup. I don't know how to do this without that utility. Help? Where are the other computers?
Right before I started fiddling with Gentoo, I backed up my hard drive to my brother's computer (good thing, too, because my hard drive failed the next morning and I had to replace it). So I want to copy all my stuff back onto my laptop. _________________ She's a fluffy psychic physicist with a deep-seated love of David Bowie. Hi.
Simply you can use Midnight Commander (mc) for browsing in known windows share. If you want browsing all your workgroup, you can scan with nmbscan tool and then browse with mc. The better way would be to mount windows share. |

I tried
Code: | emerge linneighborhood |
and it claims there are no ebuilds satisfying that.
Is that the right name? Is there a typo? _________________ She's a fluffy psychic physicist with a deep-seated love of David Bowie. Her girlfriend's a semi-devout pagan linguistics major who loves sex like whoa. They fight crime! |
