Hello all,
when I switch my desktop in KDE 3.4 Firefox simply disappears. Helper programs (like mplayer) do not crash... I use Firefox 1.0.6, but there was the same problem with 1.0.4. Furthermore Firefox sometimes crashes, I can't reproduce it and I do not know why.
The Firefox USE flags I used are: -debug -gnome +ipv6 +java -mozcalendar -mozdevelop -moznoxft -mozsvg +truetype -xinerama -xprint
Can anybody help me?

when you switch your workspace, all windows are left on the other workspace. if you mean something different with "switching desktop", please explain.
regarding crashes, it could give you some hints, if you start firefox in the console and look at the output, when the application has crashed by accident.

Had similar issue with all gtk apps, when using gtk-qt-engine to have baghira
theme on gtk (using option gtk same as qt).
If it's the case (u have set Qt theme in gtk-theme in control center):
I just downloaded panther-gtk2 theme and applied that to gtk.
Ps: starting apps from konsole, I discovered my settings where causing a
segfault issue when switching desktop.

Firefox doesn't seem to crash any more... strange. I meant that if I switch my workspace, the application on the last used workspace disappear, so the windows don't stay on it.
I get a segfault every time the applications crash by accident, I think it's the Baghira & Gtk-Qt-Engine problem described by Matteo Azzali. I'll try another theme for my GTK apps.
Is it a problem of Baghira or the gtk-qt-engine, that GTK applications crash with a segfault? |
