ciao a tutti...
so che è l'ennesimo thread sull'argomento ma non sono ancora riuscito nel mio intento.

queste le cose fatte fin'ora:
emerso samba (che uso anche come file server), cups e ghostscript;
condivisa la stampante (hp710);
configurato cups con la mia stampante: lpd://10.0.0.2/hp710 (via lpd perchè nella lista non appariva "windows printer via samba";
aperta la porta 515 sulla macchina windows.

...però non funziona... e so anche che non sarà l'unico errore.
il test della pagina di prova mi risponde:
Code:
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs.
"Network host '10.0.0.2' is busy, down, or unreachable; will retry in 30 seconds..."

ln -s `which smbspool` /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb
mi ha permesso di selezionare "windows printer via samba" e di localizzare la stampante con smb://10.0.0.2/hp710.

adesso ho:

Printer State: processing, accepting jobs.
"Printing page 1, 21% complete..."
ma rimane così e non stampa comunque... :(

sto diventando scemo...

ho aggiunto questo al mio smb.conf:

[printers]
    path = /var/spool/samba
    comment = Printers
    printing = CUPS
    printable = yes
    use client driver = yes
    valid users = @users

ho letto diverse guide... tutte diverse e tutte dicono che è semplice... cos'è che mi sfugge??
aiuto per favore...!
