I'm having two fairly basic problems that I am hoping someone can help with. They may even be the same problem.

My main user account is receiving mail in the .maildir directory. I can even log in with mutt and see the mail. When I try to log on via either squirrelmail or horde, they show empty folders. If I log onto webmin, and go through the qmail module, I can see all of the email, so qmail seems to get it. I can't find any references in either of the configs to tell it to use the .maildir setup.

The second problem is the courier-imap. As nice as it would be to have a separate database of users, all I really want to is have my imap server use the user accounts I've already got set up in /etc/passwd. How do I config courier-imap to do this?

The two problems may be related. Maybe if I get the logins to point to the user accounts, they will see the .maildir.

have you configured squirrelmail/horde to use your imap4 server? is your imap4 server properly configured?

inside /etc/courier/authlib/authdaemonrc you should have authmodulelist="authpam" or authmodulelist="authshadow"
