Does anyone know what/where you can get Legal ROMs? I don't like to pirate anything at all, but I like the idea of MAME. I have heard that a few developers have allowed their games to be downloaded free. I have also heard of starroms.com. Anyone know anything about this, any other services like it, or free & legal ones? Thanks.

I recommend AdvanceMame. It was primarily designed for arcade style monitors (yet works on almost any monitor), but has the best rendering options I have seen. It also has a nice litle menu on it. It is my favorite one.

advancemenu can be a nice frontend to most emulators, it's in portage but masked. |

I thought advmenu was only fullscreen and didn't have a x11 option. I must admit I do use advscan for my rom checking, although I notice mamory has an ebuild it doesn't seem to get the same attention. |
