ok, searched for this, brought up a bunch of stuff on how to configure but didnt address this question... What formate of wineX do I need for gentoo .deb .tgz or .rpm

| You want the .tgz. The best way to do it is download it and save it to /usr/portage/distfiles, then type emerge winex-transgaming. It will look for "/usr/portage/distfiles/winex3_3.3.2-1.i386.tgz" and install it for you. |
