I recently bought a usb charging data cable for my LGvx6100 phone to use with bitpim, and I cannot get it to work. I'm hoping someone here has some idea.

The cable is a Texus Instruments TUSB3410. I know the cable works because I tried it with bitpim on windows on another computer. I have the kernel module for it compiled and it loads. I have bitpim 0.7.34. In bitpim, I go to edit,settings, and then browse next to com ports. The only com port it lists (under not available) is my usb ipod mini. So how do I get bitpim to recognize the com port for my phone?

The ouput from lusb gives me this (along with entries for my ipod and mouse);
/usr/sbin/lsusb
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0451:3410 Texas Instruments, Inc.
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

And in /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap I have the entry for the phone:
usbcell 0x0003 0x0451 0x3410 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

I know hotplug is working since I also set permissions for my usb scanner in that file.

I have also tried using the vendor and device id for the phone in hotplug with no luck either.

Thanks.

Make sure the CDC-ACM driver is loaded, this is either built into the kernel or a moduel. if that doesnt work or is already loaded you may want to try the usb cable hack listed here
