I'm considering switching to selinux, and I have a rather "funky" partition layout (lvm2 on top of cryptsetup hd's) and I was just wondering.
I'm reading this part : http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/hardened/selinux/selinux-x86-handbook.xml?part=2&chap=3
What exactly does make relabel do? And if it's adding extended attributes, wouldn't I have to modify fstab and reboot with xattr on before running that step?
And second, why is it neccesary to reinstall grub? |

just relabel the files in the different filesystem with the extended attributes of SELinux acording to the policies installed, those are extended atributes in ext2,ext3,xfs and jfs developed specifically for SELinux, so if you have followed the gentoo handbook, you don't need to do anything else.
I have problems when relabeling in the chrooting enviroment, so, when finished the installation and booted with my Gentoo SELinux I just did the make relabel, and all went fine.
About grub, really don't remember that part of the handbook, besides I use lilo and don't remember that I had reinstalled |
