Multiple outgoing VPN connections

Hi,

I am running a Gentoo/IPTables based firewall (2.6.9-gentoo-r9 SMP, iptables v1.2.11).

When we try to open multiple VPN connections to a VPN server outside our network (same server), only one connection will be successful. Every time I open a VPN connection all the connections before this are rendered inactive.

I did some research and found out that I will have to enable VPN masquerading in the kernel by installing some patch. But VPN Masquerading has kernel patches only for kernels upto 2.4.x, do I not need this patch for kernels 2.6.x?

Can someone please help me resovle this issue.
