Hello,

I have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard with a 3000+ AMD64 Venice (Stepping E3). I have installed and recompiled a brand new Gentoo on this with all AMD64 flags (this is a 2.6.12-gentoo-r6 kernel) and for some reason, USB 2.0 support is utterly broken. I seem to be able to get only USB 1.1 speeds. I upgraded the BIOS to 1008 (1011 has been bad karma for me ...) but still get this on USB device connection :

Code:

hub 1-0:1.0: state 5 ports 10 chg 0000 evt 0010

Do you handle youre USB by loading the modules or does hotplug and/or udev handle the module loading?

If you load the modules by hand (or with /etc/modules.autoload.d/) you could try loading the ehci_hcd module first and if that fails, load the ohci_hcd and then compare the error messages.
