|
|
I have a Compaq Presario R4000 laptop, with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M integrated graphics. This is an Athlon 64 system.
I have downloaded the proprietary ATI drivers, but they are in RPM format. I searched the forums and read the handbook, but wasn't clear on how you're supposed to be able to install RPM drivers.
Can someone walk me through this? |

Okay. I frogot to mention that I as yet, do not have a working network connection. I'm setting this laptop up as a GRP using the Packages CD. And the emerge ati-drivers does not work.
So I downloaded the ATI drivers from the ATI website, but they are in RPM. I now have them on my hard drive, and am trying to install them.
Since these drivers are masked, I can't install them. I installed to this laptop using the 2005.0 install CD that I bought from the Gentoo store, so it's probably got an older portage tree than what is currently available. |
