i don't have a net and i want to install gentoo from live cd and i want use package cd, what should i do, i copied packages from package cd to /usr/portage/distfiles and i copied there gentoo kernel from live cd and when i want to emerge gentoo-sources or something else system tray to connect to gentoo mirros. Could someone tell me what i have to do to make system use package files on my disk and not connect with net while i try to emerge something, thanks, greetings |

you will have to copy gentoo-sources-2.6.x.x.tar.bz2 or whatever it is named (the file it's trying to download) into /usr/portage/distfiles.
It wants sources, not the binary kernel from the cd |

Please follow the networkless installation instructions to the letter.
It will instruct you to copy over the source code files to /usr/portage/distfiles and, at the end, use the Package CD for installing packages. You should never need to copy the package files to any location. |
