I really want a 2.4 based firewall machine, but I want it to be easily manageable (web interface preferred). Fine you say, there's oodles of firewall distros out there. Trouble is i'm using a USB Speedtouch which hardly any support. I built an OpenBSD firewall but found it was hard to manage if you for example needed to quickly open up a port.
I've noticed the guide on installing the speedtouch with Gentoo and it looks simple enough, just wondering if there are any guides on setting up a Gentoo firewall?
It's a bit tricky to create a secure firewall when you have something like portage active, not to mention all the scripting and development tools. So a setup which has these on a seperate partition with symlinks seems to be the answer.
Any ideas, links etc..? |

There are quite a few threads discussing Gentoo as a firewall. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
