Hi
Finally i decided to post. this is my first post for gentoo,by the way :) .I have been installing gentoo to where i want. Read lots of posts and it 's been three exciting days. Learnt alot about my computer now. Thanks Gentoo. Ok, there is a small problem.
I got fluxbox working. but i could not shutdown computer from fluxbox. i have sudo set up without password. (so sudo shutdown -h now should work) but not even root can shutdown. it actually did once. that is. what happen was it closed all the windows and hang. cant move mouse and anything, all lock. the way flluxbox start is that i rc-updated xdm and displaymanager is gdm. I also noticed when i shutdown from gdm login manager, there is error shuting down gdm.
any suggestions.
Thanks
James

I guess the problem must be something to do with gdm. when i start fluxbox with startx , it is ok to shutdown. so i am changing to xdm to log in with. oh well, gdm only give me nice log in screen.
