Hi,
I have bandwith limitations of 14GB/7days for my internet access. The bandwith is calculated from an outside router so that i can have "free transfers" inside a limited network. I'd like to come up with a solution that monitors traffic that is routed through only the internet router. Those traffic monitors that i know of like vnstat seem to only have the option to monitor a certain interface device. Could somekind of a tunneling device solve this? With iptables i can log precise ip-ranges, but it doesnt have anykind of timeline options like vnstat. Is there an easy solution to this? |

I know that ntop allows you to create filters so you can specify what kind of traffic to watch. I have never worked with the filters, but a quick look through the man page of ntop says it can be done. |

Why not use MRTG? It will graph monthly usage (which is what I would assume you need. _________________ Folding@Home User 285941 |
