Any suggestions on finding some how-to's for gentoo? I successfully setup apache in Slackware in about 15 minutes, but am having a horrible time setting it up in gentoo. Are there any tricks I should know about? I either get 'document contains no data' or 'connection was refused' when trying to connect to the gentoo box. I tried to configure the apache.conf to the same as the httpd.conf file in slackware, but nogo. |

I don't know of a how-to exactly. But you could use section 8 of the desktop configuration guide.

it would be helpful if u could provide the relevant output of access_log and error_log of apache - do you get these errors when connecting from localhost or from outside or both? _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

Thanks for your help, sorry for the senseless post.. |
