|
|
Hi,
I have emerged the latest ati-drivers (version 8.20.8 ) and have ensured that fglrx is loaded and used by my X.org 6.8.2-r6. It runs at 1280x1024@60Hz, 24 bit color depth.
Both "gears" benchmarks look fine and so is fglrxinfo hence I believe it has 2D and 3D acceleration.
However, there is something seriously wrong with the colors. I have not installed any desktop environments or any window managers, but rather using the default X.org environment. The title bars should be in green but they appear as black. I browsed some websites and found the colors to be way off as well.
When I changed the driver setting inside my xorg.conf from "fglrx" to "vesa", the colors went back to normal. The title bars became back to the usual light green color. However, the X.org "gears" benchmark was bad and the one by ATi couldn't run at all. No surprise as fglrx is not loaded.
Any ideas to why my X.org with fglrx screws up the colors? _________________ (~ cci[RR]us ~)

I managed to solve the problem! :p
For some strange, unknown reason, the auto-generated xorg.conf contained this line:
Code: | Option "GammaCorrectionI" "0x00b02c0b" |
And I changed it to something more intuitive:
Code: | Option "GammaCorrectionI" "0x00000000" |
Theen the colors went back to normal! _________________ (~ cci[RR]us ~)

Thanx...
That solved the same weird problem for me as well.
Actually I could get the colors back by clicking on the TV-Out tab in de ati-control utility.
However if I started OpenOffice the colors would be off again and stay off.
Weird behaviour
But anyway, it's fixed now |
