I was trying to do a search on the forum but for some reason the search defaulted to "gtk" whereas I wanted to do a search for GTK+ .. bah!

anyway the problem is that I am trying to emerge xmms however, the configure stage of the installation barfs on me with the following message..
Code:

checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.2... no

   .
lots of irrelevant stuff about redhat and library path missing etc.
   .

   .

configure: error: *** GTK+ >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first..

I know it's obvious that gtk needs to be installed.. But i've installed it already. I am not sure
what more I can do.. Does anyone have a clue ?

Make sure you have gtk+-1.2* installed. Although the ebuild should have pulled it in.
