Ok, this maybe an stupid cuestion, but, i have a gentoo box and I wonder if spying software like SpyAgent is available in linux. Multiple users use my machine and i would like to monitor the keytrokes, mails, visited sites...
I know there are logs and stuff, but a centralized program with a beautiful GUI would be sooooo nice:)

Thanx in advance

If the users are not aware that they are being monitored then what you are asking for is illegal.
Even if they are aware of it, we are talking about very questionable ethics - you simply do not read other peoples' private mail.

The users would be insane to ever agree to having their private communications monitored.

You sound like a 15-year-old with the urge to "hack".

Well I think i've been misunderstood. This is _my_ machine, but others in my family use it. The thing is that frecuently, i don't know how, they bork it. And frecuently too, some go to pages they shouldn't have to visit. I'm far from 15 years and i don't wanna hack cos it's my machine. I only want to be able to monitor the local users that use this PC with root privileges. They shure know that are being monitored. They don't care.
Is there any solution to my problem? please, i try to do no harm, I only try to look after my PC.
Thanks in advance:)

Well, I'm truly sorry for the wanton suspicion...

But:

Normal users have root privileges ?

My first advice would be not to do that.

If you can assume that they will not consciously try to abuse it, you can simply send yourself log digests for selected services, and maybe set quotas... but you really should not allow root access unless you need to do system administration.

No, I'm the one that would use root privileges while monitoring them:) Sorry:lol:

Sending log digests seems a good choice, but i have no idea to do so. Disk quotas are so good too but i don't know how to set them up neither.. I'll google about quotas.

Thanks a lot for the help!!!!!:)
