Hey there,
does anyone know how to tell mplayer to keep a certain aspect ratio when switching to fullscreen gl2 output? (gf4 ti 4200, nvidia 4191-r1).
I have tried Code: | mplayer movie.avi -aspect 2.39:1 -fs |
and various other versions of that line...but everytime i use "-fs", it throws everything else aside, just to fill out the entire monitor with movie picture - no black bands.

use xv, it's designed for video output. |

Yeah, i'd love to use xv, but i can't seem to get a tear-free picture using tv-out. The only way (so far) has been through setting __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 and using gl2 - thus provoking a vblank. I just can't enjoy TV-out with all that ripping and tearing in the middle of the picture. Thanks for the advice though, its good for general monitor-movie-watching. |

I get the same problems when using the gl or gl2 vo driver.
Mplayer resizes the video twice:
...(mplayer console output)...
[gl2] Resize: 1152x490 <--- correct aspect
[gl2] Resize: 1152x864 <--- entire screen, wrong aspect
Though if i'm not using the -fs switch it occasionally works correctly. |

Good luck.
