|

Hello Everyone,
I cannot get konsole to work under my non-root, user login (group: wheel). I tried re-emerging, but I believe this might be a permissions problem. I fixed other permissions problems that prevented audio from working and caused a lock-up on kde bootup. This was achieved my chmoding /dev/sound/* and /usr/kde/*. It's still necessary for me to chmod after every reboot for /dev stuff (if anyone can explain to me exactly how to give user access to components in the /dev dir this would be appreciated...I tried modifying /etc/group and /etc/udev without success).
Anyway, when I start konsole it loads properly, but the cursor is frozen and doesn't respond to any input. I though that giving my user account read permissions for /dev/console and all contents of /usr/kde would do the trick, but I've had no success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
