I have been playing a little with my tvcard and alsa and have some trouble getting audio control to work in tvtime.
What I have tried:
- Starting tvtime and I notice that - and + does not affect the volumn
- Starting alsamixer and determine that the channel that I'm interested in is aux
- By looking in /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml I notice that 'aux' is not available as 'MixerDevice'. In fact those available look like oss devices
- I start aumix so that I can determine which oss device maps to aux
- In aumix I only have the following devices: Line1, Line2 and Video, and non of them works 
Here I'm kind of stuck. My audio card is: | Code: | 0000:00:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI (rev 02)

The problem has more less solved itself (it simply went away, I don't know why... grrr... I hate when that happens).
But, the problem is not completely gone. When I reboot the box, tvtime plays no sound at all. If I then starts xawtv, close xawtv and then starts tvtime it plays sound! Anybody knows why? |
