hey, im sharing my dialup connection my my linux pc,
eveything seems to be working great, clients can only ping the ip's of internet sites, and not ping the dns name of the sites.

You need to configure the DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf.
Enter the local (if available) DNS or the DNS servers of your ISP.

tried that. i dont like that idea of resolution. i dont wanna hafta go to someones machine and have to remember my isp'z dns server in order to get this to work, when i can just as easily setup ics on a windows machine...
i merged bind, and bind-tools, seems to work

i emerged bind and bind-tools and i have set that up to work.
i dont quite understand how to configure my named.conf 100% correctly, if someone could forward me a documentation
i'd be set. |
