AFAIK you need the 32bit libs and use a multilib system.
then just install firefox and the netscape-flash.
if you are not using multilib - then im affraid its not possible.
I might be wrong, so someone else correct me. _________________ linux: #232767 |

I did specify multilib as a USE flag I think, if that's what you meant. But wouldn't a "emerge mozilla-firefox" pull a 64bit install? |

You should check for multilib in your "emerge info" output.
And if you have the 32bit libs installed - I think its something called emulation-32 something - sorry.
then i guess it will compile 32bit software - but still run on amd64 cpu's. because of those emulation libs.
I havent used that - so This explanation might be a bit crazy, I apologise.
let us know how it goes. _________________ linux: #232767 |

What 32bit libs are you referring to? And multilib is specified in /etc/make.conf as a USE flag but doesn't appear as an "emerge info" output. |

Code: |
~ sudo emerge info
Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0/no-multilib, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r1, 2.6.13-rc4-ck1 x86_64)
|
if you have the same ( default-linux/amd64/2005.0/no-multilib ) then, there is no 64bit flash plugin. _________________ linux: #232767 |

I wasn't aware of a 64bit flash version ... I remember under Fedora Core I had to use the 32bit version of Firefox to get flash to work. |
