|
|
After searching these forums, the ndiswrapper mailing list, google, etc, I am completely lost.
I have a Linksys WPC54G PCMCIA wireless card.
Originally, I had a D-LINK wireless card that I could not get to work with NDISWRAPPER, I used the Linuxant DriverLoader and it detected my card, but I could not get it to access the internet, I just gave up on that one I purchased a Linksys instead.
I'm not really sure WHY it doesn't work. I tired the drivers for this card off the ndiswrapper site, and none of them worked, so I used the driver off the cd that came with my card and ndiswrapper says the driver is installed and it detected the card. The cards power light is on. I added wlan0 to my internet interfaces and whatnot.
However, when I run iwlist wlan0 scan, it never finds my access point. I turned off all my security settings, etc to make sure that wasn't problem, but alas, I still can not get it to detect my access point.
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, I followed countless tutorials, searched everywhere and I cannot find a solid answer to my issue.
Here is my lspci output:

I noticed that 0000:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI] and my wireless card are both using the same IRQ port, 9, I believe that might be the issues, but I have no idea what the workaround for that is. The ndiswrapper FAQ suggests using apci=noirq, but where do I put that?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer me, and if this has already been answered in another post, I'll be eternally grateful for someone to point me to it.
Thanks,
Tim |

What is in your /etc/wireless? Sometimes the ndiswrapper drivers are a bit more fussy about these settings. |

My /etc/wireless is empty, it doesn't exist...
Thanks

first make sure you emerged "wireless-tools", then copy /etc/conf.d/wireless.example to /etc/conf.d/wireless:
Code: | cp /etc/conf.d/wireless.example /etc/conf.d/wireless |
Then edit this file. It has very helpful commenting. Once that's done, run
Code: | /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 start |
