I followed the exact instructions for using ipod in gentoo

http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Using_an_iPod_With_Gentoo_Linux

However, when I try

Code:
eject /mnt/ipod

My entire system freezes and I need to reboot my machine. Any fixes?

Try:
Code:

umount /mnt/ipod
eject /dev/sdx

where x (as you might know) is a, b,c or whatever your ipod is
