Hi I'm trying to install the ppc-minimalist-2005.1 and my lan hardware is not showing up.
DHCP or static assign via net-setup won't work because it doesn't seem to recognize anyhardware.
I have a linksys router and it should easily have assigned an address.
I tried modprobe tulip and no eth0.
Anybody know what module I should use for this iMac.
Thanks in advance. |

care to share please...?? I'm using the big CD and all but eth0 appear (so far) to have been autodetected. System Profile just shows 'builtin ethernet at eth0' _________________ michael |

I'm getting a similar thing here - it even shows eth0 up, but it just won't talk. DHCP fails, and even with manual config it won't ping other machines. |

Ah!
Ok, it seems that 2005.1 ppc64 install CD doesn't work on an iMac G5 when plugged into a Gigabit switch. I (fortunately) had a 10/100 switch in the closet, which I connected to my gig switch, and then plugged the iMac into the 10/100 and now it works.
Hopefully the latest kernel will fix that. |
