|
|
when i load engage in E17 (by typing "engage" ["enlightenment_remote -module-load engage" doesnt work any reason why?])
it will load but a huge black box will surround it that is about 15 % of the overall screen height and 100% of its width.
and i get this message from a terminal
Code: | Esmart_trans Error: Could not read root window pixmap property!
Esmart_trans Error: Cannot create transparency pixmap: no valid wallpaper and no background color set. |
there is a wallpaper set. |

When editing to put "solved" in the subject, could you next time also include your solution or where you found it? |

It doesn't help me - it's not starting at all - but when i start engage from command line I have a long BLACK bar on the bottom
It will be really helpfull if the autor of the basic message posts the solution here _________________ Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.

So, unless you set a background using Esetroot or similar, then it won't work in E17. In order to see the module, you need to enable it in the main menu too.

HAH!!
SOLVED:
when You install engage it is just present in the modules menu - when You start it from there, engage starts correctly!! otherwise its black...
(I'm talking about E17 of course) _________________ Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.

It is not a problem - it's a feature:
the small icon shows already opened process while big one allows You to start other process. _________________ Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.

Engage is a launcher (by clicking) but if you scroll your mouse wheel over an icon it will go through all open instances of the app. |

but i dont understand this:
i've got a firefox launcher icon, but when i click it and launch firefox, ANOTHER normal-sized firefox icon shows up in the engage bar. only one of them has the smaller icon above it to indicate a running instance. is this normal? |

im not sure who you were talking to, but look at this SS. notice there are 2 firefox icons and 2 thunderbird icons (the blue ones). the first of each was there to begin with because i put them there for a launcher. but then an extra one of each showed up once i actually launched the apps. it seems like the extra ones shouldnt be there.

Thats probably a bug... but I didn't see it before cause I'm using engage only as a status bar... I'm launching all apps from menu or from ibar. _________________ Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.
