I just recently installed the latest nvidia-kernel on a new system. But when I try and load it with "modprobe nvidia", it tells me Code: | FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/2.6.12-gentoo-r6/video/nvidia.ko): No such device |
However, I obviousely have the card there (GeForce FX5900XT (MSI)), and I have loadable modules and MTRR enabled in the kernel. Any idea whats causing this and how I can get the module to load? |

You also have to install "nvidia-glx", iirc. Then do
Code: | opengl-update nvidia |
