I currently have a ADSL with dynamic IP. I have an ADSL model router that sets up a NAT and my few computers are behind that. I want to be able to access my computer from work and so I have set up forwarding of the SSH port in the router to the correct computer. I am using a dynamic DNS service from hn.org and has a perl script that allows you to update the DNA by typing "hammernode.pl ip-address".
What I would like to know is how to get my non-NAT ip-address from a computer behind the router. I can do it manually by going to a relevant website, but I was wondering if there is a way to automate this. |

You could use ddclient. It is in portage and works with various routers and dynamic dns providers. |
