Hi 2 ALL!
I have problem with my SCSI RAID adapter.
I have RAID 1 (2 HDD SCSI). But the speed is very slow for SCSI...
Code: | # hdparm -t /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 132 MB in 3.01 seconds = 43.89 MB/sec
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(null) (wait for flush complete) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device |
How can I solwe this problem? _________________ Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With |

dmn,
Are the drives attached using a PCI bus?
lspci will show that.
What controller do you have?
43.89 MB/sec is just under half the theoretical PCI bus bandwidth, I would have suspected a little better from a 32 bit 33MHz PCI bus butu not a lot.
Is your SCSI bus properly terminated?
One terminator at each end and none in the middle of the wire and the last device plugged in at the end of the ribbon. SCSI is very fussy about little things like that. _________________ Regards,
